Oconee Bell Alpacas

Leslee Wooton is a full service  alpaca breeder offering Huacaya breeding stock, agistment, stud and shearing services. She also offers raw fleece and yarn.

Alpacas were a cherished treasure of the ancient Incan civilization and played a central role in the Incan culture which was located on the high Andean Plateau and mountains of South America. Alpacas produce one of the world's finest and most luxurious natural fibers. Soft as cashmere and warmer, lighter and stronger than wool, it comes in more colors than any other fiber producing animal.

Alpacas have been domesticated for more than 5,000 years and offer a sustainable agriculture model. They possess soft padded feet and a hard upper pallet which facilitates pasture recovery, even on delicate terrain.  With high stocking rates and three compartment stomachs, alpacas convert grass and hay to energy more efficiently than other farm animals.
