Patti's Paw

Patti’s Paw is a line of cat cards that showcases the cats Patti Waltz shares her life with: Sequoia, Minnie Mouser, Neko, and Smudge. These cards are presented as if they were vignettes from an illustrated book. The intention with these pencil cat illustrations was not only to capture the beauty of the feline form, but more importantly, to reveal the whimsy and wisdom of the character behind the cat. Turn over the card, and get a further glimpse into the illustration by reading the true “tail” narrative. Being that these are like small works of art, Patti choses to use archival printing methods and materials. These archival cat art cards fit into a standard size 5″ X 7″ frame. Each card is individually packaged in a protective sleeve. Cards are blank inside… enjoy.

Patti's artist statement:

"I fell in love with my first cat at the age of 23 when I was attending The Cleveland Institute of Art, where I began my BFA in painting. I have been inspired by cats ever since, and they surface as subjects in my artwork time and time again. As for my artistic tool of choice… I love working with pencil. It amazes me that one can achieve such depth and detail with such simple things as a pencil and a piece of paper. Several years ago, I reconnected with my long lost love of illustration and it’s like I rediscovered myself. I always have loved illustration yet have taken a very long and twisting road to get where I am today. I look forward to finding those imaginary places I have yet to create. I love art. Once the pencil hits the paper, there is only the moment."
